NFL CAREER – The Saints acquired David in a bold move, signing the young but proven performer at cornerback to four-year deal despite the fourth-year veteran from Indianapolis being a Restricted Free Agent. Under terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, the Colts had a week to match the offer sheet. After that time frame expired, David joined the Saints as a key addition to the secondary. He has appeared in all 48 regular-season games of his career – with 43 starts – while also opening six of seven postseason games the Colts have played since 2004, including the club’s Super Bowl XLI victory. While David remains an emerging talent, he is an established, experienced starter who has been extremely productive in his first three seasons. In his career, David has posted 147 career tackles (125 solo), three fumble recoveries and eight interceptions with a touchdown return.
