NFL leads search for Canada's best EA SPORTS Madden NFL 07 player

The National Football League, EA SPORTS and Rogers Video announced today that they are searching for Canada's best Madden NFL 07 players.

The Canadian EA SPORTS™ Madden Challenge will feature 20 regional competitions, held at Rogers Video locations across the country on November 12, 2006. This Canadian leg of the EA SPORTS™ Madden Challenge will culminate with a national championship tournament in Toronto. Regional winners will be flown to Toronto and given a chance to be crowned national champion, represent Canada at the International finals in Hawaii, and win the $100,000 grand prize.

Madden NFL 07 is the latest installment of the top-selling football video game franchise in North America. More than 2 million copies of the game were purchased around the world following its August 22, 2006 release alone.

2006 marks the first year that the EA SPORTS™ Madden Challenge expands internationally. The United States, Mexico, Canada, United Kingdom, Germany and Hong Kong will all execute national tournaments and send representatives to the International finals in Hawaii. Winners from 26 U.S. cities and five NFL international tournaments will advance to the Finals.

The winner of the overall 2006 EA SPORTS Madden Challenge, held during Pro Bowl week (week of Feb. 8, 2007) in Honolulu, Hawaii will receive a grand prize package, including a check for $100,000 and the winners of each regional competition (including Canada) will receive $1,000.

Three ways to play in Canada

Registration for all regional tournaments is offered online at www.rogers.com/Madden. Registration begins October 3 2006. Each regional tournament will feature 32 participants. Participants will be selected by random draw from all eligible registrants, and then compete by controlling the NFL team of their choice. The 2006 EA SPORTS Madden Challenge, hosted by Rogers Video, will test the skills of thousands of gamers on Madden NFL 07, on both the Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles. There are no age limits or fees to participate. Tournament registration and play is open only to residents of Canada (excluding Quebec).

Winners of each regional tournament will be awarded an all-expenses paid trip to Toronto to participate in the national final. Eligibility restrictions apply. Walk-in, on-site tournament registration will be accepted on the day of each city's competition as space permits.

In addition to entering regional tournaments, Canadians can also participate in the Canadian 2006 EA SPORTS™ Madden Challenge by registering directly in the national finals in Toronto (regional winners will be seeded above random entrants at the national finals in Toronto).

Finally, participants can also win a spot at the Toronto final event by downloading the Madden NFL 07 mobile game or NFL team logos on a Rogers Wireless phone. Rogers customers can text 'NFL' to 4742 to get started.

Winners of both the Rogers Video Regional events and the Rogers Wireless contest will compete with the national final registrants in Toronto to determine the Canadian representative for the 2006 EASPORTS Madden Challenge in Hawaii. Walk-on, on-site registration will be accepted at this event, as space permits.
