Toronto Gamer captures Canadian Madden Challenge

Etobicoke regional champ Mohammed Abdulle is the new Canadian Madden Challenge champ. Abdulle, using the Indianapolis Colts, defeated Laval regional winner Jeremy Horne 24-10 in the tournament final. Horne was controlling the Detroit Lions.

The tournament was held at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre and involved more than 200 gamers. Legendary NFL running back Jamal Anderson made an appearance at the event. In 1998 Anderson rushed for 1,846 yards and 14 TDs while leading his Atlanta Falcons to the Super Bowl.

The overall Canadian Madden Challenge consisted of 12 regional tournaments (held at Best Buy locations across the country in October) and the Toronto final.

Abdulle will now represent Canada at the International EA Sports Madden Challenge video game tournament, which will be held in Los Angeles next month. Abdulle will battle 26 champions from the United States, and one from each of Mexico and the United Kingdom.
