Hall of Fame meets High School

Pro Football Hall of Fame running back Thurman Thomas has seen a lot of football over his career, but the 2009 Ontario high school football championships left a distinct impression on the Buffalo Bills legend.

“I love all of the motion before the snap, and the creativity of these offenses,” said Thomas while taking in the series of five regional championship games at Rogers Centre Wednesday – collectively called the Bills Toronto Series OFSAA Bowls. “The memories created here today will last a lifetime. These kids are playing their hearts out. and its fun to watch.”

Thomas was on site to meet fans, greet coaches and give the young stars words of encouragement. As a representative of the Bills, Thomas will be back at Rogers Centre on December 3 when the Bills take on the New York Jets in prime time.

“These players have worked really hard for the right to represent their schools and regions in today’s championship games,” added Thomas. “They deserve the championship atmosphere that we have created for them, and we hope that they feel a part of the NFL experience in Toronto."
