Should McNabb be a starter?

The Colts and Patriots game was hard fought and not decided until the end. It was an enjoyable game. However, I thought the Colts offense would be a little more productive. Peyton Manning looked a little off rhythm. Tom Brady was also a little off also, until the end of the game, when he did what he usually does, which is coolly make plays to win games and make it look easy. I would be shocked if these two teams do not play for the conference title at the end of the season.

The Steelers are one rung below the Colts and Pat’s. They continue to run the ball well and play great defense. Ben Roethlisberger has bounced back from a sub par year, and is having a great season, however, barring major injuries to the Colt’s or Pat’s, I don’t believe the Steelers can challenge those two teams this year.

The Buffalo Bills continue to win and improve, which is impressive in it’s own right, but to do it while rotating quarterbacks (due to injuries), makes it doubly impressive.

The Bill’s Marshawn Lynch is a stud; I really like his effort and desire as a player.

On the defensive side, they have played some inspiring ball, safety Donte Whitner has proven to be a leader on and off the field. Apparently the league has taken notice of the Bills resurgence, their game against New England on November 18th has been moved from a 1:00 p.m. start to a nationally televised 8:00 p.m. start. I realize the pats are the major reason, but the Bill’s have done their part to make it interesting.

My pick for surprise team of the year (had to mention it) the Detroit lions are on a collision course with the Green Bay Packers for the division title. They still have two games to play out of the last eight, which should make for really exciting contests. Detroit has had to wait a long time to be playing meaningful football this late in the season.

Other notes:

•It’s nice to see Priest Holmes playing again, it looks like he’ll even get a start this weekend, due to an injury to Larry Johnson.

•It will be interesting to see if the Eagles stick with Donovan McNabb the rest of the season. I would.

•Drew Brees is a good player and a great guy, I’m always happy when he does well, so I’m glad to see him playing better.

•Speaking of good guys, one of the nicest and friendliest NFL players I ever met, is considered by many to be one of the meanest and hardest hitters the game has ever known, former Forty-Niner great, Ronnie Lott.
